Hi

I am looking for any help, please, to continue my family tree.

My Ggf was born in St Thomas Mount, Madras in India. 3rd November 1862.  His name John Richard Burns.  I have no other records before this.  No parents details at all.  These details were taken from his naval records. Although we are sure these records are his, his middle name was Robert and not Richard! I have found him on the 1901 census at Pembroke Dockyard, Chatham , but on no other records.   Any help please.
