There's some general info here http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/LIN/poorbastard.html The sentance that reads "All DEPOSITED bastardy documents have been indexed." refers only to Lincolnshire, I'm afraid.  The relevant County Records office is the best place to start if your guy falls in the right date range (many have on-line cataglogues) as any surviving bonds are likely to be with the associated parish records.

Bastardy bonds probably came into being with the overseer of the poor in 1597, although they may have been used previously by the Alms collectors.
