Beatrice Maud Margaret Hodgetts 1885
« on: Tuesday 12 January 10 22:24 GMT (UK) »
I wonder if there is anyone out there that can help me.  We have information of Beatrice's birth and then up to the age of 16.  Beatrice's father was Samuel Hodgetts (1845 ish) and mother Jane Webb (1855).  Her grandfather was Abel Hodgetts (1803) and grandmother Hannah Richards (1814).  She was born in Dudley (Hales Hill), Worcestershire (Ecclesiastical parish: St Thomas).  We believe that she was an only child so are keen to find out if she had any uncles, aunties to give us a lead to any of her family, our ancestors.  Beatrice's son Maurice has passed away (my father in law), and he never knew any of his relations.  So my husband Michael is keen to get in contact with any of his relations.  We know that she started out as a nurse domestic in Dudley and at the age of 26 went to Eastry in Kent on her own in 1911 as she was on the census there.  We believe she then moved to Southend on Sea, Essex possibly 10 years later but do not know what happened in those 10 years.  She was never married (as far as we know) but went on to have 4 children.  We believe her partner was Charles Stammers (1874) a bit of a mystery.  Be so grateful for any help.
