I have found the first child Mary on the Woodhorn Transcripts so the others are probably there as well.

Thank you so much Tracy and sillgen for the wonderful information you have given me. I shall now go painstakingly (that means very slowly in my case!!!) through all you have suggested to try and make connections. I am so grateful for your input. I am sure I shall call on your help again in the future.
Best wishes,
David

Thanks Janis,
That would explain why Mary doesn't appear on any later documents. I am still struggling to find out more about William's father THOMAS KENNEDY who appears on his marriage certificate.

Hello David
Could you post up everything that is on the marriage certificate - including names and occupations of both fathers and the names of the witnesses - is Thomas listed as being deceased?
Thanks

Hi Tracy,
William married Sarah on 26th August 1851 at St John's, Newcastle upon Tyne. She was a spinster of the parish of Woodham as was William. His work was "Groom" and his father was Thomas Kennedy, Labourer. Their witnesses were William Forster, her brother and Jane Ann McKay. Her father, John was a Brewer.

Hello Wolfie,
Now that is helpful and the 'odd' spelling of the name may be the reason I couldn't find it! I think William was by then living with his Grandmother Forster if I have the right one.
I am sure that is Thomas his father and Mary must be his mother.
NOW I need his father............
Thanks again, :D
