1861 & 1871 Censuses please - Walter WALL & family

Good morning,

I would be very grateful if anyone could find census details for 1861 & 1871 for the following family:

Walter WALL b. Thanet or Margate, Kent c1828   Occupation: Licenced Victualler

Wife's name could be either Helen or Mary Ann

There were at least 2 sons that I know of, possibly other children as well as I think the couple married in 1855:
- Walter William born 1864 in Bedford
- Richard Sidney born 1868 in Curvey, Beds.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

PS:  Walter's wife probably died as he remarried in 1878 in Northants.

   Both still there in 1861 as well just found them ...

  RG9/988 F 23 P40.

  Agian no children with them as they are in service.

The children seem to be living as boarders in 1861/1871 with a family called Bamford. Thomas W 1860;Walter W 1865; Richard S 1869 on the 1871. There is a Sarah H on the 1861 as well. Walter and Helen seem to be living as servants at Pick Hill House, Turvey. Walter is a Butcher and Helen a Housekeeper. Walter born in Kent and Helen in Scotland.

  Thomas Watt Wall bapt 29 May 1859 St Paul Bedford father Walter mother Ellen.
 Also  Georgianna Wall bapt 25 Sept 1857 St Paul father Walter mother Ellen.
 She died soon after reg q3 1857.

  Walter's wife Helen/ Ellen Hampton was born 1825/1826 in Laurencekirk Scotland .
 IGI has two for around that date.
 Helen Hampton bapt20 Oct 1823 to Robert & Helen(nee Laike)
  Helen Hampton bapt 24 Aug 1828 to James & Mary (neeScott).

Good afternoon everyone,

Thanks to your information I have been able to trace all the WALL boys -Walter, Richard & Thomas up to 1911.

However, I'm having difficulty concerning the 2 girls, Sarah & Georgiana.

Tazzie, you stated that Georgiana was baptised 25th September 1857. OK. The Bmd records her birth as 4thQ 1857 Bedford 3b 303. However, I cannot find anywhere a record of her death which you said was in the 3rdQ 1857. Doesn't appear on FreeBmd. Do you have the reference please ?

Also Sarah Helen WALL, probably born Marylebone 1stQ 1856. I've found her in 1871, aged 15, visitor with the family of William BOOT in Bedfordshire, birth given as "Middlesex".

After that, can't find a marriage or a record for her even in 1881. Nor a death after 1871.

Would anyone be able to throw a light on these queries please ?!

  Hi Nick....

  Have a look on freebmd for 3qt 1857 Bedford. It shows George Wall BUT look at the original image and it is for GEORGIANA WALL Bedford so a transciption error  ref 3b 203
 listed is George Wall Bedford- should be Walsall
              Georgiana Wall Chesterfield -should be Bedford
               Hannah Wall-Stockport- should be Chesterfield.
 so places are all out .
