Good evening Tazzie,

Just shows that even with experience you can overlook basic checks ! Thanks very much for eliminating that one for me. I've just had a look at the original images and there's no mistake - it's a wobbly.

There only remains the mystery of Sarah to solve now.

Much appreciated.

Nick

Good morning Tazzie,

I was going to do the same re correction submission, so I won't double up now.

Yet another lesson learned ! I would be extremely grateful if you could spare the time to have a look for Sarah. I've tried everything I can think of for the time being - maybe I've overlooked something simple ?

If you or anyone else has access to St. Paul, Bedford PR's it might be worth looking there for a marriage or a death after 1871.

Your help greatly appreciated.

Nick

Sarah Helen WALL, probably born Marylebone 1stQ 1856.
I've found her in 1871, aged 15, visitor with the family of
William BOOT in Bedfordshire, birth given as "Middlesex".

After that, can't find a marriage or a record for her even in 1881. Nor a death after 1871.

Would anyone be able to throw a light on these queries please ?!

Many thanks, Nick

Good morning,

Thank you for your interest and your info. Could be an interesting lead to follow up.

The only thing I have to support my belief that she was born in Marylebone is the transcription of the 1861 census, where she appears as a child of 5, boarder, with the BAMFORD family in Turvey, Bedfordshire. The birth transcription reads "Mary To Bore", Middlesex, which looks very much like a transcrption wobbly for Marylebone. (I know this is the right Sarah because her brother's details tie up too)

Your 1881 details give a birth in Islington, which makes me hesitate. But the 1871 details for Sarah Helen WALL look promising nevertheless.

Many thanks for your time and trouble. This gives me another lead to follow up as I was at a full stop right now !

Nick
