Need help . My Grandfather George. Andrew. Chuter . born Sydenham London UK in 1900 to Andrew. Gordon. Chuter. & Lucy. Harriet. Chuter. Looking for info on them . I did not know my Grandfather he died when i was young. They emigrated to Australia in the early 1900s i believe. Any info on this family would be much appreciated.

I have found the passenger list that shows this family...

Aboard the ship "Norseman" from the port of London arrived Sydney New South Wales 18 August 1913

CHUTER
Mrs Lucy no age give
Master George no age given
Miss Minnie age 11
Miss Isa age 10
Master William age 2mths

No sign of the father who could well have come out earlier then sent for his family when he was established.

I will see what else I can find.

Okay, it looks as though Andrew CHUTER came into Australia at Melbourne and then moved on....

Aboard the ship T.S.S. "Somerset" from the Port of Melbourne to Sydney New South Wales 28th January 1913

CHUTER Andrew G

No other details on this manifest.  However his arrival in Melbourne aboard the same ship in the same month of 1913 gives his age as 43.

According to the NSW BMD and Andrew's death entry... his parents were Samuel and Hanna(h).  So I have checked the UK Census for them and also on Free BMD.

His birth index reference is...

June Quarter 1869 Farnham Hampshire 2a 93
CHUTER Andrew Gosden ( should be Gordon obviously )

His marriage index reference is....
