William JAMES, St. Albans, Request. *Completed, Thanks.
« on: Saturday 16 January 10 13:23 GMT (UK) »
I have found a marriage between William James and Hannah Weedon, which sits very nicely with known facts.
(I.G.I. extracted, 28th August, 1809, St. Albans, Herts.)

If anyone can verify this, and possibly add parent names, I'd be very grateful.

Thank you.

'Hat.

Hi

The marriage for William & Hannah is included on the HALS online marriage index so that pretty much confirms it did take place.  :)

Would they be the William & Hannah who are in Lambeth in 1851, HO107 Piece1572 Folio742 page 15.

If they are, on the IGI, there is a christening for William James 31 Jan 1790 St Albans Abbey, parents Edward James & Elizh & Hannah Weedon 25 Jan 1789 Abbots Langley, parents William Weedon & Ann.

Just thought these looked as if they might fit.  :)

Hope it's some help.

Thanks for the confirmation, Maddie, and thanks very much for pointing out the HALS index, which I wasn't previously aware of.

You're welcome, ;D in case you didn't know, a copy of the marriage can be ordered on line from HALS but chances are the parents wont be on there unless they happened to be the witnesses.

If it's any help I've always found the IGI for Herts has been pretty accurate, with a good coverage. :)

Hi 'Hat,

I verified the marriage with the St.Albans Abbey PRs.  The witnesses were Jer--?? WALKLEY and Elizabeth JAMES.  No mention of parents.

Thanks for looking, Peter.

Maddie found Elizabeth, mother, on the I.G.I, so that ties in nicely.
