I have only just come across these postings re Joseph Hicks Thomas and Mary Opra. I have recently been researching this family for my partner - another sydney born abc. I have managed to get pretty much all of the information from census records etc but haven't yet managed to find the record of Joseph, Mary and family returning to Australia, although had suspected that this was the case. Could anyone provide me with information about the date, ship etc. Also is there any further information after they return - did they again live in Sydney? I know Florence Thomas married Ah Lum (William Lumb Liu) and that her parents apparently disowned her at that time. I have information on their descendants but I have no further information of the rest of the family and it is quite difficult to find as Thomas is such a common name. Any help would be much appreciated.
