Deleting My Posts
« on: Monday 18 January 10 13:14 GMT (UK) »
Is there anyway I can delete any of my old posts or my contributions to other posts.

I am fed up with getting emails telling me someone has added to a post I have contributed to.  It's OK on most, but on some my twopennorth is not really informative & of no interest to anyone.

If you go into your Profile, you can change the notifications settings so that you don't receive emails telling you about new additions to threads in which you have posted.

Hi Jen

Will that stop all notifications?

If you tick/untick the appropriate box, I think it will. BUt I am no expert on this. ;)

I don't think we can delete except in the Off Topic threads. But why would you want to delete? If you can stop the notifications, there should be no further problems with old posts.

Jen :)

I have done this a few times for topics that I contributed to in a general way but no longer wish to follow. On the notification email that lets you know someone else has posted on the topic there are 2 links. The first takes you to the actual topic, the second reads something along the lines of 'if you no longer want to receive notifications...' click here. It takes you to a page where you click Yes to say no more notifications connected to that particular topic.

On each thread, next to the reply button, is one which says 'notify'.  If you click on this you can set it to stop notifications to that thread only.

They still stack up in the 'new replies to your posts' section though!

Jen has mentioned the ToT's board, but you can also delete from The Lighter Side, if you so wish !!  :)
