Thanks Sandy - Happy New Year

I think we're getting a bit ahead of ourselves on this one - see http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,431044.0.html

To recapitulate, Kezia Skevington of Bozeat married in Moulton in 1795 (http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,427228.0.html). We've now established that there were no Kezia Skevington baptisms in Bozeat, leaving the way open for her to have been the Kezia from Turvey. But there's a burial of a Kezia Skevington in 1784 in Turvey, who may well have been her grandmother, but a member submission on the IGI thinks it's the 1762 Kezia. So we still need a Turvey look up for the burial to see if there's any further detail.

If the burial says wife of William, or widow, then I think Karen is as certain that she can be that she has the right family

Hi David.

Happy New Year to you too.  :)

Sorry I have got carried away with the posting.

I am just on my way to a graveyard for another Rootschatter
as we are expecting snow tomorrow.  :)

I will re-read when I get back.

Sandy

Wasn't you!

I think it would have been safer to have established that it was in all probability Kezia baptised 1762 in Turvey who married in Moulton "of Bozeat", before moving backwards to researching her putative grandparents

If the 1784 burial of Kezia in Turvey says daughter of William & Elizabeth, then this whole thread is hypothetical.

From Bedfordshire Archives, an extract from Turvey Parish register states that Kezia Skevington, buried 23 May 1784 was a widow.

[I tried to post a link, but can't get it to work. A google for"Kezia Skevington" should find it]

Yes

This was in Northants so you need to post on the Northants board

so do we think that william and elizabeth are keziahs parents

That's what an extracted entry on the IGI says

Katrix, you're confused ? well so am I - Have I been dreaming ... there was a posting on the Beds board titled 'Keziah Gee died 1798' raised 30 Dec 2009 ; as I answered it - & now it's gone .. I printed the posting - I have it here.  Katrix did you delete it? not to worry if you did. Thought I've lost it - OK some would say I have.
