Hello every one,
Iam looking for my Great Aunts daughters family Ada Moon born Otley daugher of Frederic and Rebecca Moon,married James E Lawton a Canadian soldier , son of Harris Lawton a farmer in British Columbia,they married in England 1919 and had one daughter Winifrid born in Canada,Rebecca died in Cobble Hill 1949,any information on the family would be appreciated as I have non at all other than what I have posted here,

Regiment # 1018381
You can view his attestation papers at this site and can also order his complete military file through this site. It could contain valuable information.
He was born in Otley. At the time of his enlistment the Lawton family was living in Battleford, Saskatchewan.

Cobble Hill, is in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island in British Columbia. Someone at this site may be able to help with information hopefully an obituary.

1911 census with Harris Lawton and son James E farming in North Battleford, Saskatchewan.
On the 1916 census for the same area the family is still in the North Battleford area, Roundhill
Harris(49), Lucy(50), Frank(26), James(24) and Edna(18 ).  Their year of immigration is 1910.

On the Victorian which landed at Halifax from Liverpool 28 Mar 1910 is Harris(43) cloth designer, Lucy(43), Herbert(19) rugmaker, Ernest(17), Nora(14), Edna(11).  bound for Battleford Saskatchewan to farm.

There are a number of sailings for Ada, James and Winnifred.
Ada A. Lawton on the Scotian sailing from Glasgow to Montreal 18 Oct 1919 going to husband at Rabbit Lake, North Battleford, Sask., 22.

Ada and Winnifred Mary travelled on the Canada and arrived in England 5 Aug 1923.  They returned on the Canada arriving 23 Nov 1923.  Ada Annie is 26, b. Otley, departed Canada 28 July 1923 and originally came to Canada 20 Oct 1919 and landed at Montreal.  She is going back to Rabbit Lake North Battleford

The family travelled on the Duchess of York arriving Liverpool 13 Dec 1930 bound for 109 Ilkley Rd. Otlkey, Yorks.  James(34), Ada(33) and Winnifred(9) b. Rabbit Lake Sask travelled back to Canada on the Duchess of Richmond arriving 18 April 1931.  Ada b. Otley and James b. Skelmanthorpe(?)  He had previously been in Canada from 1910 to 1917 and 1919 to 1930.

Passenger list for Rebecca Elgie Moon.  She sailed from London to New York and entered the US only in transit to final destination - RR#1 Freeman Rd Cobble Hill Vancouver Isle, Canada
landed in New York June 27, 1947
Age 77, widow, last permanent residence in England 109 Ilkley Rd, Otley, Yorkshire
nearest relative in England was George Riddle, 40 Northumberland St., North Shields.
