Joseph King
« on: Wednesday 16 March 05 14:27 GMT (UK) »
In 1851 Joseph King  was married to Louisa. They were the School Master and Matron respectively of the Bledlow Workhouse. What I don't understand is - the children were alone living elsewhere - was there some reason for that (I know there was Cholera in other parts of the country, for example)  or was it just school rules!! I'd love to find out more about them if possible  Thanks in advance!

Thank you for the information on Joseph and Louisa King who worked at Bledlow workhouse. Nice to be able to find information about them - a bit of social history thrown in as well.

One of the reasons for finding this family, is the fact that they were at Bledlow Workhouse, and there are a few of my relatives there at the same time in 1851.

As for Gypsies, yes I had relatives that moved about all over England.  From Bucks, to Liverpool, to Edinburgh, and back again. Kinda makes your head spin. ;D
