I was just going to say that from your post it could very easily be him with those extra details, he's probably Billy because mum couldn't bear to call him Percy?

I would say that's extremely likely and probably why he was known by his middle name. As far as I can tell, his parents married the August or so and his father crashed in Germany (RAF) in the September. :'(

Maybe it was a rushed marriage??  If it is him, being born in march Q 44 would make that 7 months at the latest after the wedding  :o :o ;)  (By the way, I must say your typing is excellent for a 3 year old  :o ;) ;D)

;D 3 in RC time. Too many messages to count.

I have sent a message to Middlesbro' to confirm parents' names. After that, I can always try the death to confirm details ... not sure if they would confirm even if I only have a general idea of how he died? :-\

Hi folks
Are you sure you have the right person here and that this one is deceased?   If not you are falling foul of our rules re living people.   Too much speculation!   If there is any uncertainty at all I would prefer to remove this post.
regards
Andrea

Thread completed - thanks to all who helped. :)

Hi Andrea,

I do apologise if I am breaching any rules. :-[ I have tried to post as little information as possible, but I do know that he is definitely deceased - there is no doubt about that. I have also confirmed with the Middlesbrough RO that the birth mentioned earlier in this thread is the one I'm looking for, and would assume the corresponding death matches also. However, if you still feel the information is too recent (which I can totally understand), I have no problems with the thread being removed. :)

From the name and dates, I believe that the man in question is my grandad, and are we also related?
