If you can wait till I get home this evening I will have a look on the Taddington CD for you.
Too many to list! But always particularly interested in my eight ggp lines : ALLEN, HODGKINSON, FLINT, SWINDELL, SHELDON, BINGHAM, JACKSON - all in Derbyshire; and ELLWOOD in Cambridgeshire

No Martha bapt in Taddington I'm afraid.

However there was a Joseph & Mary Hibbert of Priestcliffe who had children bapt there (Mary Ann 1816, Ellen 1818, Eliza 1820, Emanuel 1825).

(Joseph Hibbert of Priestcliffe & Mary Bagshaw of Priestcliffe married in Bakewell 2/11/1815.)

Apart from the single bapt of Benjamin s/o John & Ann Hibbert in 1797 (NOT of Priestcliffe), these were the earliest Hibbert baptisms in Taddington, so even if your Martha was born there, the Hibberts didn't originate there.

Whilst I'm at it, the Martha bapt in Eyam 17/6/1815, was as you know the dau of Thomas & Ann. She was their only child bapt there, and Thomas was described as a "post chaise driver of Stoney Middleton".

Cheers
Mark

Hi Mark,

Could I be really cheeky and ask you to check the name Hibberd?

It's seems from looking at the census that Hibbert/Hibberd were used indiscriminatley, depending on who was writing it down.

Thanks :D

I had already checked all variants, and indeed the baptism of Emanuel I mentioned in 1825 was under the surname Hibberd.

Cheers

Hi Julieann1
My family originated from Priestcliffe, Monsal Dale, and their Parish Church was St. Giles, Gt. Longstone.
