Piper and Andrews Family
« on: Friday 29 January 10 17:29 GMT (UK) »
I am starting my search for my mother's mother's side of the family (ANDREWS).

I have very little to go on and I would appreciate any assistance you can give me.

So far I have:
If correct the 1881 Census states:
Head of Household
Thomas Andrew 35 (Blacksmith)
Wife:
Mary Ann 27
Children:
Mary 11
Nancy 5
Harry 4
George 1

Wharf Street 4 House 16 Court
St. Thomas Ward
Birmingham, Warwick, England

Note: John wasn't born until 1882 and the address on the birth certificate is 16 Court Wharf Street U.S.D., under the section "Where and When"
Note: Thomas Andrew occupation lines up with that which is stated on John's birth document.
Note: It seems that the person conducting the census dropped the "s" on Andrews, though this is not uncommon for this type of error to occur.

The 1991 census has:
Head of Household
Thomas Andrews 47
Wife:
Mary A. 39
Children:
Nancy 15
Harry 13
George 11
John 9

The family seems have moved to:
3 house 14th court Rea Street
St. Martins Ward
Birmingham, Warwick, England.

Note: Taking in consideration Mary would have been 20-21 years of age she may have been out on her own by this time.
Note: John appears to be the right age.
Note: The St. Martins Ward is next to the St. Thomas Ward and the distance of travel is relatively short and would put them in close proximity of Vere Street (the home of the Pipers).
