LILL of Lusby & Louth - SARAH CHESTER
« on: Sunday 31 January 10 00:16 GMT (UK) »
I have William Lill, b abt 1746 Lusby, who married Mary Rye chr 04 Nov 1746, Lusby - they married 01 June 1766, Lusby. Mary's parents were George Rye b 1726 and Susanna Gressell b ?
William and Mary had 8 children, one of who was Michael Lill (1786-1844) who married Sarah Chester 04 June 1816, at Louth St James. I have no information about Sarah.
Michael was my great great grandfather and I am desperate to find out more about the family. There were other Lill's in Lusby, but I am yet to find a link.
Michael and Sarah had a daughter Betsey (my great grandmother)
1817-1874, Louth.
As always, any assistance is greatly appreciated.
regards

Hello Sue
Not so far, but that is all I have about them so far. I have some at Alford who I think may be related, but can't link them yet.

Both the IGI and FreeREG have gaps from about 1780-1805ish at Louth.

Today I broke my personal record for most consecutive days alive.

I have discovered recently that this name can also be found as Lyall, Lyll, Lyal - I have found a fanmily that I am certain are all the same people but they are on the IGI as Lill, and on Ancestry and Freereg as a combination of these names.
Has anyone else come across this - is it common?

Hello,
I have a Michael Lill born Lusby 28 May 1820, son of Joseph & Mary. He died at Sloothby on 22 Mar 1876.
He married Ann Harrison in 1856 in Horncastle registration district.
She was born in 1814 at Holton le Clay and died at Sloothby in 1900.
All the places are in Lincolnshire. Do you want details of Michael Lill's parents who were Joseph Lill and Mary (Riggall).
Ivan.
