As you'll see from my reply to Maurice, my Grandma was indeed an orphan.
I looked at the site you mentioned and felt really awful reading those sad stories from people who had been so cruelly treated as children.
It's unbelievable how cruel some people can be, I can't bear to think about it.
I don't hold out much hope of ever finding any records about the place my Grandma was living and I sometimes think that maybe we're better off not knowing too much !!
