Is there anyone out else there who knows that they are descended from LALLY's who were around the Parish of KILCLEAGH in WESTMEATH in the 1800's or even the early 1900's ??

Hi James
I am John Lally my fathers name was John and his father was John Lally from Boggagh Eighter the family home of the Lallys  which is still there. Like I said I was down there last weekend. Tried to post a photo but was unable. Why are you interested in the Lallys may I ask?

Kind Regards
John

Hello John Lally,

It is very nice to speak to you, my names is James Lally & my family lived in Fardrum, Westmeath, in the late 1800's.

I have been wondering for a while whether my Lally family were related to your Lally's from Boggagh Eighter.

It seems that there were not many Lally's around the Parish of Kilcleagh, so I thought that there could be a chance that our families were somehow related.

Regards,

James.

Hi James
Hope you are keeping well. I would say that the two families must be related. Are you are of that the 1911 census is online and the 1901 census has just go live last week? I noticed that some of the Lallys from Boggagh were staying with Lallys from Athlone on the night of the census. They were in their 20 so I assume they were cousins. I am sure we can find a connection if I do some more checking. It is fantastic to make contact with you. I have a website with all my contact details you may be interested in having a look? It is www.johnthehandyman.ie
Talk soon
John
P.s. the census website is http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/ it has a mile of information also.

Hi ya John,

yes I was counting down the days each time waiting for them to release the 1911 census & then the 1901 census online.  :D  haha

I will take a look at your website & email you.

James.
