THANK YOU BOTH!!!  I have not been able to get back to the site since I posted.  Can't tell you how stunned I am  :o to see your responses.  Thank you!

John and Fanny are right!  I have tears that you all would do this research for a stranger.  I could not say thank you enough.  ;D

Hi Deemike,

Glad to be able to help and unravel the mystery of Franks parents - hope you'll come back to rootschat if you have any more "roadblocks"

All the best  :o

Thank you Dettori.  You can guarantee I'll be back.  Maybe one day I can help someone in return.

Would either of you have any experience re: finding birthfamilies?  My father was adopted in 1936, and we really know nothing.  Any advice/tips would be appreciated.  My dad is unable to speak after suffering a stroke several years ago.

Thanks!

Hi Deemike.

Have'nt a clue but maybe if you just say where he was adopted it may get a responce from someone with that knowledge or experience.  It would be a starting point  ???

Hi Deemike,  have nothing at all of value to add --  just wanted to say welcome to Rootchat!  Great that dettori and nickgc found something for you  :)  and yes, please do come back as you are putting your bits and pieces together  or feel free to jump in to help others.  Everybody was new once!

As detorri said,  if you can say where your fathers birthplace was likely to have been, can see what the state adoption laws for that state might have been or are now.  Can possibly provide some links to websites where you might make further inquiries.  States vary on  what they will have and if it was an open or closed adoption and how much information was actually known in 1936.   Note,  you can not post specific details on persons still living or the board moderators will delete those parts.  However,  the PM system can be used.  Some of the sites like genforum, cousin connect etc. etc   seem to allow postings pertaining to missing relatives.

Good luck!

In 1920, Rhuhama is a widow age 65  living in Wabaunsee Co. , KS

1860,  " Ruhama Hislett"  age 5  b. Indiana  is living in Zionsville, Eagle Township, Boone Co., Indiana.
Her father is Jacob and mother is Mary.  She has many siblings.

Do you have all that ?
