"The Man that Never Existed " Llangollen 1975 *Completed*.
« on: Wednesday 03 February 10 19:10 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

Anyone advise me name of local newspapers / local TV news programme for Llangollen in 1975 ?.

The death of a man in Llangollen around spring time 1975 was headlined
"The Man that Never Existed" in the local press / local TV news also took up the story,an inquest was held.

Cheers
Dolly.

You could try the Oswestry Advertiser. Although Llangollen is 16 miles away, it is often in the paper, hence the name Oswestry & Border Counties Advertiser. It can be viewed at Shropshire Archives, 1849-present & Oswestry Library, 1849-1979 & 1995-present.

Just to add that, if you are away from Oswestry, the Local Studies librarian at Oswestry is very helpful. Contact details here:

A N Palmer centre, (which has relocated to Bersham Heritage Centre while Wrexham Museum is being altered ) , has Wrexham Leader 1975 on Microfim.

Census information is Crown Copyright (see: www.nationalarchives.gov.uk)
