James T SNELL
« on: Thursday 04 February 10 14:07 GMT (UK) »
I'm trying to find out about my great grandfather James T. Snell. Born in Littleton Drew, Wilts., about 1837. I've just received his marriage certificate which tells me his fathers name was EURCH Snell. I've never come across this first name before! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
Welcome to Rootschat!
Is the marriage between James Tyler Snell and Hanna Maria Morgan in Newpport, Mon. ?
If so I think James father is probably Enoch, if you google   Marriages Parish of Caerleon St Cadocs Church 1860 to 1869 you will find details of the marriage.
Saying that , i cant find Enoch or James on the 1841 Census yet.
James and Hannah(Anna) are  on the censuses.
Hope this is of some help, don t hesitate to ask any questions you may have, we are a friendly lot!
Cathy
