On IGI there is this Baptism 5th Feb 1781 at Sturminster Newton Dorset
John Smith Rossiter  mother only stated as Francies msybe shoud be Frances.

francies /frances is listed as francess rossiter so it would look like she was unmarried however cannot find a baptism for a frances rossiter

I have a marriage between a John Rossiter & an Elizabeth Kendall at St James, Poole on December 2nd 1813 which would fit with this family as the first child was born circa 1815.

Is it possible to access the marriage record please to find the name of John's father and possibly John's age at the time of the marriage?


I have accessed the marriage on the Parish Records section of FindMyPast, and the details are as follows:-

22nd December 1813
Groom: John Rossiter of East Orchard
Bride:   Elizabeth Kendall
By Licence
Witnesses: J & S Kendall and M Rossiter

Just checked through my database and found a Fanny Haine Rossiter baptised June 2nd 1755 at Child-Okeford, , Dorset, England.

Is that near enough to Sturminster Newton?
