George Charles Wayne

I have a problem with my g.grandfather -George Charles Wayne -1st appearance -marr. to Florence Ethel Blandford 1884, Brisbane- info says father George Alexander Wayne, merchant, mother-Marjorie Stella Broughton,
age supp. 25.  He was a mariner in Qld.  I can find no trace of his birth or any trace of his parents-according to his records, bornPoole, Dorset.
After 2 children born Sydney and Cooktown, Qld, he left my g.grandmother.  I have found him on electoral rolls in Melbourne(ancestry) up until 1916, and as crew on merchant ships over the years-however his age fluctuates by about 5-15 years.  Can find no record of his death.  According to family stories he died overseas (a lot earlier than 1916)  This is all a big mystery, so any help would be appreciated.  Thanks, June
