Lewis, Abertillery 1917
« on: Friday 05 February 10 12:01 GMT (UK) »
Is it possible for someone to look for an address of an ancestor in 1917?

I have the marriage certificate of Reginald John Lewis who gives his address as only Abertillery and his occupation as Chauffeur.

He obviously took his father's name as a second name as his birth certificate says that his name is Reginald only.

Thanks

Hi

If there is no actual address on the marriage cert - nobody would know where to look.  Electoral registers for that period are address specific

Hi Cardiff

The brides address is only given as Radyr and I have her in census in Cardiff.  Reginald was born in Usk, Pontypool and I have him on 1901 census as living in Usk, Pontypool.

Also I see the original poster says they have Reginald John Lewis being born in usk but that would make his age in his wedding cert incorrect the only search I get for the birth based on age on wedding certificate makes his birth 1884 rather than 1888 so trying to pinpoint Reginald John Lewis is very difficult
