Hi
I did pop a post on here Dec 08 and am still looking for some info / help on where to go next. So if any one can help me I would be so pleased.

In 1871 John Waters B 1846 was living in Middleton Cheney, Northamptonshire, England. Then he vanished.
About 2yrs ago I stumbled across this

Missing Persons as Listed in the Salvation Army 'War Cry' 1888

WATERS, Jane (Mrs)

Of Queen Street, Middleton Cheney, near Banbury, would be

glad to hear from her son. His address in 1882 was John

WATERS, c/o Mr Henry HARRISON, Taradale, Hawkes Bay, NZ.

27 Oct 1888

WATERS, John

Of Taradale, Hawkes Bay, Napier, NZ who left Banbury,

ENG, about sixteen years ago... would he at once

communicate with his anxious mother. Address: Mrs

Jane WATERS, Queen Street, Middleton, Cheney, near

 Banbury.

I have been through shipping lists, web sites, cemeteries all to no avail - doubly difficult because I am here in UK and whilst I can read maps it is hard to know the area etc etc.

So is there any advice anyone can give me on where to go to try and track him down from 1872 in Taradale?

Thank you for taking the time to read this request
Cheers
Nigel

This might be the 1925 death mentioned by Janette, although M/I record #563 shows age as 90, and Bolton St Wellington is a long way from Hawkes Bay.

Hi folks
Thank you very much for these replies. This guy was my Great Uncle.
I reckon from the info you offer i am looking at 2.  29 march 1925 Archers St QE Park or 16 Dec 1925 Bolton St, Wellington.

So can you help ansa a couple of questions please?
1. if I ask for copies of those records do you know what info I can expect to get?
2. How do I get copies of the death cert for both from your government?
3. Althea The newspapers - can you recommend some good site please I tried your advice before but got lost in not knowing the country?
4. I have e mailed local schools in the Taradale area as a friend has done that before but no response
5. When I use your BMD site I just keep being sent back to the search page so i am doing some thing wrong - got a clue please?
6. Last but not least has anyone got a link to your countries census search /site please?

I sound a bit lame here and am sorry for that but would really appreciate your help
Thanks again for your replies

You can order them from the site Janette gave you in Reply # 1

Purchasing the $20 printout is the better option as this will give a bit more information.
