The second one you mentioned is the one I thought it was originally but it turns out its a different George.  Someone had this George on there family tree, I contacted them but they said that he got married to some woman later on and it wasn't elizabeth.  Shame cause that particular Job was killed in the mining accident at a Dandy Pit so I thought he was the one.  Its all confusing think I need that all important parent or siblings name to link the right one.  Just been looking on a mining diaster site and there was another Job killed but he was in Gloucester in 1855 age 43.

Just looked at the family you mentioned and the head of the family john Dando (possible George dad) was born in Gloucester (according to 1881 census), I wonder if its possible that this older Job could be the brother of Georges Dad John Dando.  Do you have access to a musch older census.

Sorry I am a pain

Actually that might be wrong I think they would be too old to be brothers.  I think I was getting carried away.

It is quite possible John and Job were brothers

1871
Smithy lane
Pensnett Staffs
George Dando head M 45 Blacksmith Bristol
Elizabeth wife 43 Paulton Somerset
JOHN son 20 Sinker Paulton Somerset
Edward son 18 Coal Miner Coleford

JOB son 16 Blacksmith Dudley Worcs
Elizabeth daughter 14 Dudley
Jesse son 12 Dudley
Mary A daughter 8 Kingswinford Staffs
Leonora daughter 4 Kingswinford
RG10 3026 86 20

Wonder as the family moved around did John really  know where he was born????

You really need if possible to purchase some marriage certs to be certain

You can order them online from the GRO at a cost of £7

if you do decide to do this I would purchase George and Miranda's cert first - and wait to see who is named as his father

Hi Suz

You've found me some interesting things to look through.  I wonder if they filled things in wrong to make it difficult for them to research ( :)).  It makes it more interesting.

I'm gonna go for the marriage certificate and see what it says, it will certainly be interesting to see who the elusive george dando is.

I'll get it applied for and I'll let you know how I got on.

Thank you so much again it's so kind of you to help me.

Amanda
