These extracted records from civil index tend to be fairly accurate- in this instance where we are searching for names of parents to eliminate possibilities I would be happy with the information given.

Thankyou Mick for trying to help!
I think we have both learn't a new way to search, so
thanks to aghadowey fot that.
I am just going to have to try and carry on searching all
the conotations of 'Doran' Elia, Lizzy.etc........
Is there any other resources anyone can think of where I
might get lucky??
Is there a CD for the parishes of County Down perhaps?
If so it would work out cheaper than using PRONI maybe?
Grateful to all that have contributed and any ideas still welcomed.
Kind regards
Alyson

brsgenealogy seems to have  Elizabeth Dorrian 1871 with father John ??
enter just Doran and 1869 +- 4 yrs and father John - have a look at what comes up - some you'll be able to exclude ..

Alyson,
I hope this may be of slight help. Samuel Doran married Mary Jane Savage in Ballynahinch Roman Catholic Church, Downpatrick on 23 Nov 1864. I can find four children for this couple but not John or Elizabeth. However one of the children was born in Clough which is very close to Dundrum. Might they possibly be related??

Thanks eadaoin for that one, but I think this is a John Dorrian and Sarah Mc Namara.
Mother of my Eizabeth is definately Mary Savage aghadowey!....but thanks for this.
I am quite heartened by by your post kingskerwell........this is the 1st time I have
seen a Doran and a Savage on a record and in County Down!.....my names are definately
correct but I am making a note of names, as you say, they could be related.
