1861 & 1871 Census Thomas Wood
« on: Sunday 07 February 10 20:18 GMT (UK) »
Hi,
I am looking for any information in the 1861 and 1871 census records for Thomas & Emma Wood. I am not sure when or where Thomas was born, but Emma was born in 1830 in Barkby, Leicester. Thomas and Emma married in 1853 in Leicester. One possible child known would be Elizabeth. Any information would be gratefully appreciated. Thank you.
Karen  :)

Great information Mike as always. The 1871 census gave me a good lead on another ancestor's family with the presence of a grandson living with Thomas & Emma. I have been unable to find Thomas and Emma or the children on an 1881 census but I did find two possible deaths on the FreeBMD - Thomas Wood death September Quarter 1896 Leicester (71 years old) and Emma Wood death in June Quarter 1885 Leicester (56 years old). I am not sure if these are my correct ancestors but the ages fit. Onwards & upwards as they say.

Greetings Mike,
Thank you so much for the burial details of Thomas & Emma. I was searching for the 1881 census records of Thomas & Emma on the Family Search Internet Genealogy Service and could not find them even after you said you found them right away. Maybe I was just looking on the wrong site.  As you have probably guessed by now I no longer have access to Ancestry.com.
