Hi
Thankyou Karenlee and John,
The reason I ask is I can't find Thomas Heyes the father of Elizabeth Ann Heyes. All I know about Elizabeth Ann before her marriage is that she was born abt 1885, her father was called Thomas Heyes and he was a day wageman in a coal mine. Her marriage was in 1911 in Prescot.
This interested me because he's the right age and a Confectioner.
My Elizabeth Heyes married a man named Albert Edward Jackson and from when he could work as far as 1919 I know he was involved in the Chemical industry. Heavy industy.
Then for reasons as yet unknown by 1948 he is listed as Confectioner and Master Baker.
Maybe he gained the business from his father in law?
Sadly i've mentioned the one reason why this appears not to be the Thomas Heyes, I seek - that is because if he's a Grocer Shop keeper in 1901 and Confectioner by 1918 - why would be be day wageman in Coal Mine in 1911?
I see in 1881 that Thomas is still living just with his wife Sarah and is a Farm Labourer at Hill Top, Rainford
Lets say he is the one and Elizabeth Ann is born several years later, where is she in 1901? - late teens, could be a servant or housemaid somewhere.
1891 census would show us. Though previous searches for Elizabeth Ann's in that census have proved fruitless.
Any thoughts on this would be gladly welcomed,
Thankyou
Jonathan
