Frank Dent.
« on: Monday 08 February 10 08:31 GMT (UK) »
Hi,
I'm trying to find any more information on one of my great uncles, Frank Hitchon Dent.
He was born in Burnley, Lancashire, UK on Oct 31st 1884.
He sailed from Liverpool in March 23rd 1911. He seemed to make at least two trips back to England
until about 1926.

I can't find any further information about him, not sure if he had any children or where he settled?

Thanks for any pointers or info.

Mike

Hi Mike. Think its a case of going through the lists one by one to see what information they give. Your Frank is certaily well travelled starting 2 Spril 1911 on the SS Southwark. Not alot of information - says he was single/joiner and had never been in Canada before. Going to Winnipeg. We now know that he waas actually married at this time so this one is not him

23 rd Dec1923 incoming  on the SS Canada he is going to 13 Pinfold Lane. Skurton. Lancashire. He is a carpenter.

23 Dec 1926  Port of Arrival dettroit he as going to a friend John Horton, 111 Eight Mile High. Destination is Detriot. Michigan.  Last permanent address Windsor. Ontario. Accompanied by wife and daughter. Although it says he is from Burnley, natoinality is Canada.  ;D

15 Aug 1930 he is crossing the border from US to Canada going to Windsor. Ontario. Some of the scans can be blotchy but it looks as if he first travelled in 1907 - 1926. He is a carpenter. Going to Montreal PQ. Address is something like 785 Argyll Veason. Montreal PQ

Thanks.
I think he originally travelled with his brother William H Dent, who took up residence in canada and then US. I've found out lots about
him but not so much about Frank. Not even sure he had any children.
