Wesleyan Chapel - Delph
« on: Friday 12 February 10 14:35 GMT (UK) »
Hello RootsChatters,

Does anyone know if the registers for the Wesleyan Chapel at Delph are available anywhere?

In particular births and burials 1811 to 1829.

Thank you.

HI
On the IGI  records, the only Delph records are the Wesleyan ones 1786-1837.
IGI number C079991.  You could put that number into the IGI search on familysearch.org
They may help you, if you have no way of accessing them let us know what you are looking for and we can help.

Hi Szac,

Thanks for responding to my post.

I was hoping that someone may know whether the actual registers (i.e. on film or fiche) are available anywhere as I would like to see if there is any extra info noted other than what I found on IGI.

You might want to try Oldham Local Studies and Archive (Lancashire) for the records - contact details can be found online.

Hi davidrigg3

I got a 1791 baptism register at the Delph Wesleyan Chapel from findmypast just this morning. I used the Library Addition at my state library and downloaded it then sent it to myself by email.

The Family History Society Inc has baptisms for the Delph Wesleyan Chapel in the online catalogue. I'm not certain of the range. If you have a Family History Society near you, it could be worth joining.

I think the records are held at Manchester Library, If you ring them they might tell you where else you can access them.
