I think the J.Lee of 1884 is one of the brothers who were Henry & Joseph,so it's possible this is 1881 -84 when the partnership seems to have been dissolved.

I could tell you what one of them did...emigrated to Patagonia, met a lovely doctor there, and had a family in Canada

China, the girl in the upper right hand corner of your photo has such a beautiful face. Don't you think?

Yes, doesn't she...I've had much fun looking at the various faces in this photo and trying to pick out siblings.

My grandmother is, I'm pretty sure, the left end of the second row. And I think that would be her older sister 5th from left in the third row...very similar faces, and the same eyes.

Don't you just love the little papoose in the front row, third from left?

OK - just received this scan from dad  - is that any better to confirm the dates you have already mentioned? Rounded top corners but seemingly straight bottom corners. Actual measurements 3 and 15/16ths inches wide; 2 and 15/16th inches deep. This is how it was when it came into his posession in 1985, from his Great Uncle's home (which means there is certainly one (or more) of the family in it, but we don't know who!  )
