Lincolns in Bromsgrove
« on: Friday 18 March 05 23:13 GMT (UK) »
Hello -
I am searching for information on my John Lincoln born 1840.

From various sources, I know that he had a son William born around 1866 (William's self-reported birth date changes, but I'm going with the date from the US 1880 Census).

John and his son William emigrate to the US in 1869 (again, from US census data, haven't found the ship they sailed on).
As this is an English board, I'll not bore you with their life in the US.

My best lead at this point is a John Lincoln born to Henry and Elizabeth in Bromsgrove.  I have the 1851 Census which places Elizabeth, (wife of Engineer), John and his brother William in Old Swinford.

If anyone has information on these Lincolns, I would appreciate knowing more to help me determine if I have the right family.

Thanks!
On my side: Preuss, Werling, Koeneman, Sodtmann in Indiana and Germany; Spies, Jones, Shack, Schooley, Evans, St. Clair in America.
