COMPLETED: Marriage Lookup: 1854: Bolton Christ Church
« on: Tuesday 16 February 10 05:15 GMT (UK) »
Hi

I was wondering if some kind soul could lookup the marriage of William Bradshaw and Ellen Blinkhorn that occured at Bolton Christ Church in the 1854. FreeBMD confirms the marriage took palce in the December Quarter - Volume 8c page 293 [although the bride's surname is mistranscribed as Blinkharn]. The Lancahire BMD confirms the correct surname [their reference is 65/1/459].

Hi,

If you look at original entry on index and it is definitely wrong there is a link to contact them and have it corrected, have it done it myself and it can take a couple of months but they do correct it.

Visited Manchester Library and found:

William Bradshaw widow, full ag,e Great Bolton, father Ralf/Rolf (very feint- hard to make out)  (was unable to make out Williams occupation as to feint)Bradshaw, school master.
MARRIED
Ellen Blinkhorn widow, Great Bolton, father Thomas Berry, Engineer
Wit: Edmund Smith & Alice Smith (Alice made mark)
Thomas Berry, Minister

Hope it helps

Hi

Thanks for the lookup-much appreciated. It add another twig to the gnarly old tree and raises a few more buds to follow up on.
