1901 Leitrim Roscommon census
« on: Tuesday 16 February 10 07:21 GMT (UK) »
Waiting for the 1901 census to appear, I have found several relatives on the Leitrim Roscommon transcript. What I'm wondering is if you can search that site for people living in the house and not heads of households. When I try it it doesn't give me anything.
I'm looking for Margaret Gauckwin (or similar spellings) born Fairfield about 1885 and she was supposed to be in service in a private house in 1901.
Maybe she's just not included in that transcript. I'd be grateful for any help.

Hello,
it is limited in the information you can give to find someone. I have just tried to access the site and it seems to be down, however, from memory, the last line in the information box is for something like 'other people in the household' and you could try that. (You don't have to fill in other household details).
I have found relatives in this way. It's so frustrating though that I can't check the method or the exact wording.
I am sure you will find it though  :D

good luck
heywood

I have in fact tried searching through "others in household" to no avail.  Of course, it's not complete and so she's probably just not on it.

Still can't get the site  :-\
However, as you say, it is not complete for Galway, if that is the county you are searching and if you have not found the townland where you think she should be then that is probably the explanation.
1901 is supposed to be released this year.
