I am doing a one name study of the Rossiter family tree and am looking for information please about the parents, grandparents and siblings of Walter Rossiter born circa 1897 in Pontefract.

Sorry but there seems very little on the 1901 for Rossiter either living or born in Pontefract :


William D. Rossiter    b. Pontefract  1892  nephew of Frederick W. Piper

Cyril F. Rossiter         b. Pontefract  1893  son of  Frank J. Rossiter and Bertha Rossiter


What you really need is his birth certificate so you can I.D. his parents :

Hi David,

Thanks very much for taking the time and trouble to look those up.

I recognise some of the names from my database.

I've managed to identify Walter's parents as James Rossiter born circa 1862 in Radstock, Somerset & Annie Clarke born 1868 in Toronto, Canada.

I believe that their children were living in Castleford and were recorded at the Pontefract.
