Hello all,

Has anyone ever seen a shipping for the list Schiehallion departing London 13/4/1872 bound for New Zealand. Looking for the name Doody.

Kind regards
Leandra

Hi Leandra

just found this site and would like to let you know that Annie Long who married your Michael Doody is my grandmothers aunt. My grandmother Elizabeth Long is the daughter of Daniel Long and Ellen Dwyer. Daniels parents are William Long and Johanna Dwyer. Daniel and Annie Long were brother and sister. Elizabeth Long married William Barnett and lived in Oxford Canterbury. When my parents married I believe a Jack Doody was best man at there wedding.

Hi all,

My g-g-g-grandmother is Johanna Long, sister to Annie and Daniel. She married a Patrick McGrath in 1875. Does anyone know when the Long family came to New Zealand? And when their parents William and Johanna died? I have been told William died in 1866 and was buried in Rangiora, but I can't find any records to back this up. Did William and Johanna even come to NZ, or just some/all of the children?

Any input would be fab thanks :)
