Thomas Hall born in cork About 1835
« on: Thursday 18 February 10 15:32 GMT (UK) »
Can anyone help?
I am looking for more details on my Gt,Gt, grandfather Thomas Hall that was born in Co cork around 1835.The only details I have been able to trace was his father was called John Hall , a Blacksmith born in Ireland. This was on Thomas'marriage certificate to Mary Lee ( born limerick, about 1834)at st Giles middlesex, 1858. I don't have any details when the Hall family moved from Ireland, probabaly during the potato famine.
I just seemed to have hit a brick wall.
Any info will be gratefully received  ;)

Hiya Lynn Sorry cant help but it seems you hit same brick wall as me.My family i have gathered came from Cork between 1843 -1848 and came to St Giles in the fields because of the potato famine.
It seems that all the Irish were put there together and the conditions were atrocious and if you read about it they believed that because it said (in the fields) thats what it would be instead of the slums that awaited them. Anyway i wish you well on your journey and glad your family survived just as mine did. Cheers Jules
