« on: Sunday 21 February 10 14:22 GMT (UK) »
My Father was CLIFFORD JAMES B:1910 Treherbert. He had a Brother RONALD B: ???? & a sister possibly B:1925 LEWISHAM.

His Father was JOHN JAMES B:1887 he married in 1910 MARTHA ANN LEWIS B: 1886.

His father was THOMAS JAMES & he married ELIZABETH ??????

I have found on the 1891 Census
THOMAS B:1862 in MAESTEG  occupation: BLACKSMITH  ----  HEAD
ELIZABETH B: 1861                                                         ---- WIFE
JOHN B:1887 in YSTRADYFODWG                                     --- SON

But on the 1901 Census
THOMAS B: 1864 in MAESTEG  Occupation: BLACKSMITH --- HEAD
ELIZABETH B: 1864 in HIRWAIN Occupation :SHOPKEEPER-- WIFE
JOHN B:1888 in PENTRE     Occupation: APPRENTICE        ---- SON
JOHN DAVIES                                                  --- BROTHER IN LAW
ALBERT REES                                                             ---- BOARDER

Not sure if the THOMAS ,ELIZABETH, & JOHN are the same people cant find any birth details to link them to my tree any help would be gratefully appreciated

If you get the birth certificate of John James b 1887 it should give give mothers maiden name and details of his fathers occupation.
Unfortunately there are quite a lot to choose from, but only two in Pontypridd , by giving the details  you are sure of should help narrow  it down.
Births Mar 1887
James  John     Pontypridd  11a 410
James  Johnny     Pontypridd  11a 469

I find it best to deal with the Register Office for the County, they are usually more willing to make sure you get the correct one.

There are  births registered  Free BMD mothers maiden name Lewis.
Births Dec 1919
James  Ronald T . Lewis  Pontypridd
Births Dec 1918
James  Ronald.  Lewis  Pontypridd
Births Jun 1925
James  Megan.  Lewis  Lewisham

I can only find 1 match for marriage of Thomas James to an Elizabeth in the same area, but of course they may have married elsewhere.
Marriages Jun 1886   All names on same page.
AUSTIN  Mary Ann    Pontypridd  11a 544
BEBB  William     Pontypridd  11a 544
DAVIES  Elizabeth      Pontypridd  11a 544
James  Thomas      Pontypridd  11a 544

Brother in law John Davies suggests Elizabeth was also a Davies. FreeBMD offers  a small number of possible marriages in the few years before 1887.
Savage, Hoskins, Wigley, Edwards, German, Jacks

Thanks for your help, I will try to search some more...I think that Hirwaun is in Aberdare after a quick look around the internet.
I will also try to contact with the Register office for the county problem is I am based in Northern Ireland so just makes things a little more awkward  ::)
