Missing Cavanaghs !
« on: Sunday 21 February 10 21:45 GMT (UK) »
Hi,
I wonder if anybody could find this person for me. He is Thomas Cavanagh, born about 1831 in Southwark, Surrey,
He married Frances Baker during the June quarter of 1855 in St Pancras and appears in St Pancras with his wife and family on the 1861 and 1881 census still living there and employed as a porter.
But where was he prior to his marriage?
I can't find him on any census prior to 1861, nor can I find him on the 1871 or 1891 census!
His surname is spelt 'Cavener' when he married.

Any help would be most appreciated!

Sue

Can't see him on 1851 at all, the marriage cert has them both living at Phillips Gardens and Thomas' fathers name is John, Thomas' occupation is Militia Man so possibly could have been serving abroad?

Hi Aidensrest

I just wanted to draw attention to the fact that the Thomas and Francis/Fanny have been found in 1871/1881/1891 on another thread just in case people wasted time looking for something that has already been found.

I have just been following the 1841 census that Kerry found but I am wondering if  they are here in 1851. same street (upper north place) as 1841.
