1851 look up please
« on: Monday 22 February 10 14:18 GMT (UK) »
Hello,

Can anyone locate Thomas White 1809 Bromham, wife Elizabeth 1809 Bromham.

On the 1841 census they have children Charles 8, Joseph 6 and George 3 all Bromham. 1861 sees the family with Amos 16, Charlotte 13, Mary 9 and Fanny 6.

Many thanks   Margaret

Hello Margaret;  Is this Elizabeth Church - sister to Levi who married Dorcas Brooks - who married Thomas White at Bromham on 15 Feb 1831

Could this Thomas White be the man mentioned in Roger Rideout's 'Bromham in Bedfordshire' book regarding the cattle pound that was on Bromham Green. In 1854 John Inskip held the post of pinner and in April observed John Perkins and Thomas White leading 2 donkeys to the pound. Perkins & White thought it worth attempting to avoid the penalty they would have to pay to release the animals and attacked Mr Inskip. They found themselves up before the Bedford magistrates. See Beds Times 22 April 1854

regards John
