Hi Janway,
I couldn't find a marriage for a James Ludkin in Fordham but there is one for a James Lutkin and Mary Palmer, both of the parish, married 25 Sep 1822. Wits John Bishop and Robert Edwards.
Childrens baptisms
Robert Lutkin bap 24 Apr 1823
John Lutkin bap 31 Jul 1825
James Lutkin bap 2 Sep 1827
Caroline Ludkin bap 29 Mar 1830
Reuben Lutkin bap 11 Jun 1832
Frederick Lutkin bap 31 Aug 1834
Alfred Ludkin bn 6 Feb 1842 bap 8 Mar 1842

Hope this helps.
Tempsford :)

James and Mary are my ancestors too.

I just found out that James Ludkin was the son of John Ludkin and Mary Wretham who married in Illington, Norfolk on 2 June 1799. James was baptised in Illington on 27 November 1803. In the 1851 Census his place of birth was given as Ellington, Norfolk, clearly mis-spelt.

Does anyone know anything about James' wife Mary Palmer, born 1806 in Fordham, Cambridgeshire, married 25 September 1822?

It is possible that Thomas Palmer is still alive in 1841 Census.
He may have remarried.

1841 Census
Collins Hill,
Fordham, Cambridgeshire
HO107/73/5/Fordham
Thomas PALMER, 55, Ag Lab
Jane Palmer, 60
Both born in County

Marriage;
Thomas PALMER
Jane CADMAN
30 July 1827, Parish of Fordham, Cambridge
(Source Familysearch.Org)

Of course finding all the Children of Thomas/Mary and a Marriage would confirm if this Thomas was of the right age.

Trish :)

Many thanks again. Are they ancestors of yours? In which case we are related!
Molly.

Hi mollystree,
No not related, just looking up things for you.

Did you have that John Ludkin was a Widower when he Married Mary Wretham 1799?
Mary was a Spinster.

A MARY Ludkin was Buried St Andrews, Illington, 28 May 1798, age 32 (Birth c 1767)

Baptisms, St Andrews to JOHN/MARY Ludkin, Mothers name DAVY
