T. Bate, Compton House to T[homas] Hunt, Stratford-upon-Avon, with his account of accident.

18 December 1834

Eliza Hunt, aged 4, accidentally burnt to death at Kinwarton.

4 July 1836

William Hunt, died while bell-ringing at Long Compton by Visitation of God.
Deposition: William Wheeler, Long Compton, labourer.

1 July 1839

William Hunt, died of apoplexy by Visitation of God at Studley.
Depositions: William Young, Beoley, Worcs., labourer; William Hunt, Beoley, labourer, son-in-law (?stepson) of deceased; Henry Morris, Studley, surgeon.

 8 June 1840

Ann Hunt, servant, 17, of heart attack at Alcester by Visitation of God.
Depositions: Richard Jephcott, Alcester, grocer, master of deceased; William Phillips, Alcester, surgeon.

17 March 1849

Mary Ann Hunt, 7, accidentally burnt at Alcester.
Depositions: Ann Burnett, Alcester Heath, wife of William, sawyer; Mary Hunt, wife of John, needle scourer, mother of deceased.

29 June 1848

Emma Taylor, junior, daughter of Charles, Birmingham, bone button maker, of erysipelas and typhoid in the County Gaol, Warwick, staying with her mother Emma.
Deposition: Mary Ann Team

emma's mother died the next day of the same thing, whilst in prison.

30 June 1848

Emma Taylor, wife of Charles, Birmingham, bone button maker, prisoner in Warwick Gaol, of Erysipelas and typhoid by Visitation of God.
Depositions: Mary Ann Team; Harry Adkins, Governor of Gaol.

3 November 1849

Thomas Clark, 8, caught in a cement mill at Wilmcote.
Depositions: Henry Carpenter, Wilmcote, labourer; William Clark, Wilmcote, labourer, father of deceased; David Rice, Stratford-upon-Avon, surgeon.


15 January 1850

Sarah Clark, 19 months, at Bidford by Visitation of God.
Depositions: Edward Clark, Bidford, labourer, father of deceased; William Pearcy, Bidford, surgeon.

hi xin, yes it is awful, there are quite a few children on the list, the worst one is a 19 week old baby dying of shock, such a shame

Mary Hirons, singlewoman, died at Warmington of heart disease by Visitation of God.
Depositions: John Cambray, Warmington, brother-in-law of deceased; Sarah Hazlewood, Warmington; Robert--, Banbury, surgeon.


1 December 1838

John Hiron, boatman, found drowned in the Stratford canal at Lapworth.
