Access of old newspapers
« on: Thursday 25 February 10 16:02 GMT (UK) »
Can anybody tell me if one can access old local newspapers such as the Northern Scott in Inverness Library.

I know that you can access them in Elgin at Libindx.

I have a friend visiting Inverness in the near future and wondered if she could look something up, if accessible, while she is there..  She won't have time to go to Elgin.

Thanks

Betty

Hi

Depending upon which papers and when, she may be able to access them online through www.ambaile.org.uk which has digitised images of The Inverness Advertiser, The Inverness Journal, The Scottish Highlander, The Inverness Courier (some of thme anyway) and The John O' Groat Journal. They are very quick with responding to requests for electronic copies of articles of interest.

As far as I know, the library in Inverness is where the archives are located.
