think this could be josephs christening possibly no father james though on this record
joseph charman son of mary charman christened on the 27/6/1819 at horsham,sussex mothers name mary charman
ext.rec. I.G.I.
strangely there is this marriage in horsham on 29/4/1817 between a james charman and hannah child
this is an ext.rec.

Greetings
     Thank you very much for all this information. I will now try and digest it all ..and make sense of it.
Until I got the marriage certificate of Joseph Charman and Mary Bourn I had thought Joseph's father was named "Richard" but on the cert it is definitely "James"
     I suppose there are lots of errors in the transcription of some of the pages as in dates and names .. is it also possible that there are others with the same names  ... a few years apart ... and I am going in the wrong direction?
Again ..THANK YOU for all your help.


side note

I went back to FreeBMD to recheck something ... now the records I found before cannot be found no matter what I try ... and I know they are right???  Does this happen often?
