Who does the Sara Ann Evans from 1871 census belong to? Elizabeth is Thomas so doesn't look like it's her.

birth reg
Sarah Ann Evans dec qtr 1870 Llanelly vol 11a pg 628

Can't spot a marriage record for Elizabeth & Richard Evans

Who supplied the info for the death cert for Ann James? Could they possibly have made a mistake in the mother's name? The David Thomas of this family was already married to Ann by 1841, so can't have had a wife called Margaret in 1847.
Think the birth cert for Ann would be a good idea. You can contact the office by email
registrarsatcarmarthenshire.gov.uk
replacing at with @

The price of certs is going up at the start of April, so if you're going to get it, do it soon. The Sarah Ann Evans cert might provide a link and finding Richard & Elizabeth's marriage cert.

Hi Osprey

On the 1871 census Elizabeth is listed as sister but is also married and I wondered if this was a mistake and the entry should have been Evans. I thought Sarah Ann Evans may have deen her daughter. I found a death for a Sarah Ann Evans who died aged 4 years old and wondered if they were the same child.

Ann's Son in law was the informant on her death certificate. Ann's husband Richard was still alive at this time. He did not die until 1933. And yes that is a thought about her mothers name being incorrect. I did wonder.

Thanks for letting me know about the price increase of certificates I will get in and order them shortly.

Yes I found that marriage also.

On the 1881 census Elizabeth and Richard are alone, no children until the 1891 census when niece Rachel joins them.

There are a number of Sarah Ann Evans deaths in the early 1870's. Hard to tell which one she could be.

Hi, I am curious as to why a death certificate has the name of both parents on it. Is this a mistake? I thought parents were only mentioned on a Scottish death certificate.

This is a Queensland certificate which has lots of information  including the names and ages of children also  no of deceased children, where and at what age and to whom the deceased was married etc. It is so useful to get so much information so long as it is correct.

Osprey can you tell me please how I can view the 1841 census page for the Thomas family you mentioned HO107/1379/1 folio 8 pg 9

I can get the 1951 census putting in the HO107 etc but for some reason I just cannot get the 1841 one.

Hi Pauline,

it doesn't appear to be on Ancestry. There should be 9 pages in that enumeration district, they're showing only 5. I found it on Findmypast which I often use for 1841 as the transcription is better.

Thank you Osprey I thought that might be the case.

Waiting for two Thomas marriage certificates to arrive. The birth certificate I ordered for Ann Thomas was not correct and I have had some money refunded so will decide on another if the marriage certificates are the right ones.

Thanks again
Pauline
