Hi April,
I don't have any connection with your family but I assume you've seen the Rame OPC website http://www.stoneyburn.ca/OPC_Web/index.php as there are several Hockeys listed for both Maker & Rame churches. I've found it very useful.

Hi Jacqui,
yes I have seen this site thanks.
Just hoped that others may have got a bit further back than I have.
Thomas Hockey married to a Mary (possibly Smyth) around 1745 is as far back as I am at the moment.

Hi April,

Thomas HOCKEY = Mary SMYTHE 1 Feb 1735 Lewannick

son William was baptised 26 Apr 1736 Lewannick

http://www.cornwall-opc-database.org/

The next birth I can spot in 1748 in Maker so if this is the correct marriage I would be surprised if there were not other births during that 12 year period.

It may be interesting to note there appears to be a gap in the Lewannick transcripts = from 1737-1740 there is not a single entry for Lewannick listed during these 4 years, so perhaps there is a problem with some pages in the register.

Cheers Kris  :)

Hiya
I am the OPC for Lewannick.

The baps in the database were transcribed from the BTs which are individual pages and so the gaps are where some pages are missing.

I have looked at a reg transcription and can find no more children to Thomas and Mary Hockey.
