Hi again

Nearest baptism that I can find for Edward Kenrick in Llangollen  is :

8 Feb 1756 S/o Thomas and Elizabeth of Trefor Ucha

Not sure about this. I'll see if I can find anything in the neighbouring parishes.

Found the burial of Samuel  Kenrick in Llangollen:

19 June 1835 Samuel Kenrick, aged 40 of Eglwyseg  (this is in the area of Dinbren)

This age fits with the 1794 baptism that I found earlier.

The John and Sarah showing on the 1851 in Ruabon have John Kenrick  down as born Ruabon, aged 24, so b. circa 1827.  Sarah is aged 17 -b. circa 1834

HO107/2503/217/8

The Kenrick Kenrick on the 1871 is a farmer, born Llangollen circa 1823. Living Garddu, Ruabon. Sarah is also born circa 1823. Mother Ann, b. Llangollen circa 1797.

RG10/5652/59/6

I think these are two different families.

Hi again

On the 1881,  RG11/5512/74/7, Ann(e) Kenrick nee Thomas, mother of Kenrick, is down as being b. Llantysilio rather than Llangollen.

There are no baptisms for an Ann(e) Thomas in llangollen around the correct time. However, there is this baptism in the Llantysilio registers:

6 March 1796 (b. 5 march) Anne Thomas d/o Robert, shoemaker, and Elizabeth. Living Maesyrychen

Thank you very much Gadget, Wozzle for all the prompt replies.
I need a bit of time now to document all you've given me.
I thought I'd posted  reply earlier but it hasn't appeared.
Hope this one gets through.
Thanks again

Hi Gadget
Right, I'm up to date now.
Down the Kendrick line I've got:
Cynric (Kenrick) Kenrick b1823 married Sarah ?? b1823
Samuel Kenrick b1794 d1835 married Ann Thomas b5/3/1796
Edward Kenrick b8/2/1756 married Sarah Jones (un-sourced IGI record)
Thomas Kenrick married Elizabeth ??
Many other branches of course but I'll definately stick with just the Kenricks.
If you can find anything further then it would be well received, otherwise many thanks for all you've given me.

Wozzle
Looked like a nasty leg break for young Aaron Ramsey in that match.

H Douglas

I've got a better match for Samuel Kenrick, father of Kenrick:

Baptism, Llangollen 16 Feb 1788 (born  13th)  Samuel Kenrick s/o Kenrick Kenrick and Mary (nee Williams) Living Fron(cysyllte)

This fits in much better with Kenrick (jnr)'s  birth place and Samuel's age.

So there seems to have been two Kenrick families in Llangollen parish - one around the Eglwyseg area and one in the Fron area!

Will see if the Fron line remain there through time!
