Tevlin or Colpitts families
« on: Sunday 28 February 10 08:36 GMT (UK) »

hi,

does anyone have either of these two surnames in their family tree ?
both are quite uncommon, and the person i am trying to locate has the first
name of Veronica.

- there is a marriage of a Veronica Tevlin to an Albert Entwistle in 1922
and also a marriage of a Veronica Entwistle to a Herman Colpitts in 1946
  both took place in Manchester.

- does that jog anyone's memory
  any info welcome.

thanks
Al

Have you tried Telephone directories, more than likely with the dates given that there will be living relations.

Well if Veronica Tevlin first husband Albert Entwistle Had died, then maybe this is him buried in Southern Cemetery?
Buried in the church of England section, grave number S2976.
Buried on 09/10/1942, in a single grave.

Scratch that one, just looked for a death of an Albert Entwistle for that time in Manchester but only i could see died age 72, so maybe not your man. Sorry

Migky ;)

Hi Dotty & Migky,

thanks for the replies,

for an uncommon surname like Colpitts - is there an online telephone search engine which will allow you to search say
the whole of Lancashire or Cheshire or the whole of England, or is there a way of making the BT one do that, i have typed
in Manchester and there were no entries, is it a case of going thru the local postcodes like M, SK, WA, WN, etc.

i did not say that there are two possible children of Albert and Veronica - Mildred Entwistle born 1925 and Veronica G. Entwistle born 1927, so
i was thinking that the marriage in 1946 was the daughter.

Migky - Albert Entwistle was born in Manchester in 1897

thanks
Al
